Locks in Force
A lock is put on bills, appointments, clients records etc... so only one person can edit them at a time. If the record is closed correctly then the lock is automatically removed so the next person can get in. Sometimes if VetlinkSQL is closed incorrectly by a power cut or an unexpected system shutdown then the lock will remain on the record.
To remove the lock;
- The lock message that pops up when the record is opened will tell you which user the record was open on. You must go to that user to remove the lock.
- On the user the lock is for make sure the record definitely isn't open and just hidden behind other windows.
- If the record wasn't open, then while still on the user the lock was for, close ALL the windows in VetlinkSQL that are open including the diary and any menus. The quickest way to do this is to go to the Windows menu then Close All.
- Once ALL windows are closed go to the Utilities menu then Lock in Force.
- Single click on any locks for the user and then click the minus button at the bottom of the page.
- Click Yes to the warning prompt to remove.
